Choosing a Coach for Western States 100
The last time I had a coach was 2019 and while it was a great relationship, I ventured off to do many wild, unconventional races & projects that I wanted to figure out on my own: Badwater 135, The Choose Strong 507 Mile Project, & the Grand Slam of 200s. Now as I journey back to Western States 100 it’s time to reign in my training & seek new guidance in order to continue to grow.

If you're following along with my journey back to Western States, you know that one of the big focuses of training is finding speed again after two years of training for MASSIVE efforts like the 507 mile Choose Strong Project and the Grand Slam of 200s (1000 miles). While speed has always been an essential part of my training, I put greater emphasis on strength and endurance for 24 straight mon...

In 2023, I raced Cocodona 250, Tahoe 200, Bigfoot 200, Moab 240, and Jackpot Ultras 100 Miler - all within the space of 5 months(Jackpot Ultras was part of a training block in March before racing the first 200). In this video, we'll talk about mental strategies, gear philosophy, and my perspective on enduring a challenge that will demand t...

First Big Workout Health & Strength baselines
Hey Sally! Can you do a video on hormonal balance and if or how you train around your time of the month?
Absolute legend!
I love Nike trail shoes. But I wonder if she would try injinji or creepers socks (rather than nike) to help with foot issues.
Unreal. Tough as nails.
Wow! That's just superhuman.
Sally, you’re amazing! Thank you for being you ❤
I wonder what she would have achieved if she didn't have the physical setbacks. Either way, AMAZING!
This sport will always help you become a very patient human being
What's your app called?
This is brilliant ❤
UltraMarathon runners are tough as nails.
Being not able to eat anything from start of the race to being at 3rd place in 220 miles race is something i can't imagine. Hat's off to your will power..
Sally Goggin
Awesome advice... and if you can hire a good personal trainer that knows about running to help you
What an indomitable soul!
Hey, I have those same Reebok dumbbells. Lol never thought I'd see another pair.
I found this so incredibly inspirational. You had me cheering from my chair for you! thank you for showing us all how to push past the uncomfortable.
I watch a lot of pro track and ultra runner channels and enjoy them all. But none of them make me try harder out on my own runs than yours. You make me believe I can do more.
Love this content !
I was blessed by this 🫂🫶🏼🙌🙏✨️
Love you Sally! I’m running a half marathon in November 2024 and you have inspired me so Much! Going thru a tough time right now and I have found such peace in running and challenging myself! Im so grateful for your content. Always praying for you and your family and cheering you on! Always Pam
Amazing!!
Look at this! She is a machine!
Cracking an egg on a flat surface like a counter top is the secret to no shells in your eggs.
Heyy sally it is so awesome what you have done & accomplished on this running journey . I messaged with you several years ago about the barkley marathon on ig its great to see you have been doing well & glad to see you on this video down here in the south i am in arkansas still & still trail running .watch the podcast with you & nick was a verrry good one . I wish you the best of luck at western states ❤️🙏🏼💪🏻💛🏃♀️
🔥🔥
Amazing, you brought me back to the mountains which is what I loved, thank you Sally <3
One of the best documentaries I’ve ever seen and that’s saying a LOT.
Thank you for sharing!!❤ I watched your grandslam and share with my friends and family. It seems super human and I realised how much we can endure. I just finished a race at 15min before the cut-off with pure will positive mind focus because my legs were hurting very bad. I thought i would walk to finish but i would not made it in time and with positive mind, i manage to run to finish inspite of pain. I was so proud i did not quit. Watching your videos did help my mind to understand i am capable of much more.
wow!!! ultamarthon!!!!
trail ultras will still be the most insanely physical demanding things I have ever done. Never in a marathon have i heard whispers and sounds or saw movement to then look up and realize i am running completely alone by myself in the woods. and you Have to eat/drink while you do it or you aint gonna last, like she said sometimes you can't process food or water. People who do them consistently are a special breed of human.
Love you Sally!
Just stumbled upon your video and WOW WOW WOW your incredible and a true inspiration!! I'm so sorry you had to go threw that sick but you stayed strong 💪🏽
Amazing! ❤
Jason, absolutely, the work is not a linear trajectory.
Is it normal I want to cry watching this?
Started running because of you! You’re killing it 💪
An inspiration. This was a Netflix Documentary. A reminder to ‘Go One More’!!
Did the cameraman run the whole course?
I was doing a trail half marathon 2 days ago and it was a tough one. 3k feet of climbing in the first few miles. On one section of an out and back i thought i saw Sally for a split second. Then i actually laughed and though obviously it isnt cuz theres no way in a thousand years id ever be ahead of this woman haha.
I’ve lost count how many times I’ve watched this video. Inspiring every time. You ran faster at 150 miles than I do fresh. 😂😂
Big Hug from Barcelona! You're an exemple for all of us!
Sally, you’re awesome. Thank you for this ❤
Epic. Thank you for sharing, awesome race, awesome story!❤
So amazing lots of hard work plus so strong and badass keep it up
When she was groaning out loud (I’m assuming it’s a tactic to make sure you’re inhaling and exhaling at those altitudes since she was having trouble breathing or maybe just pure fatigue idk I’m no expert) holy crap I like got these goosebumps and eerie reality of how people can push their bodies and mind so hard. It’s crazy. I mean in marathons by mile 20 a majority of people’s bodies are screaming at them to stop because it’s sending messages that they’re dying. And to think there are people in this world that do 200-300 miles races are just beyond me and freak me out.
I got tuned into your videos from your mango Go One More release through Nick Bare and BPN. You exemplify everything Go One More stands for and more. You seem perfect for BPN and inspiring everyone to become a better version of themselves. You're crazy strong and inspirational to us all. Keep on going!
Where did you get your waterpack, Miss Sally?? I def want to invest in one!! Thank you for sharing and helping us out ❤
You are amazing. Inspirational beyond words. Thank you for showing how the human body can go through an amazing race ( Even though a race isn't quite the right phrase ) And come out the other side.
Amazing how you have a great life AND train and race like a ultra runner badass. You're very inspiring and you do it with a great smile on your face.
